We and AI is a Non-Profit Organisation set up and run by volunteers from a range of different backgrounds and occupations. 

We work to increase the awareness and understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) amongst the general UK population. 

This is essential to empower people to have a say in how the technology making decisions about them should be used and controlled. 

We are currently creating ways to engage people in the potential risks and rewards of the AI already in their lives and to show different ways to get their voices heard.

About the role 

As a Digital Marketing Manager, you will play an integral role in the design and development of We and AI’s social media presence and effectiveness to achieve our charitable goals. 

We are looking for someone with experience and qualifications in marketing acquisition and retention strategy, campaign planning and management, digital media and communications platforms and practices, as well as brand development in both B2C and B2B. However, as this is a volunteer role, it can be split into various elements as a job share, so please consider applying if you have any of these skills and experience.

Main responsibilities

Your duties will include the following:

• Design and oversee our marketing database and email operations.
• Develop and monitor campaigns in line with our objectives and resources.
• Provide updates on campaign performance.
• Evaluate and develop metrics related to web traffic, brand awareness, downloads and engagement.
• Develop and implement an SEO/SEM plan.
• Manage content for our WordPress site.
• Give feedback to user testing and persona development.
• Collaborate on deploying visual brand imagery.
• Research and evaluate new applications, platforms and media.

About you

Requirements:

• Excellent command in spoken and written English (native or bilingual level).
• A love of digital digital marketing tools and platforms.
• A passion for understanding and crafting user journeys.

• A passion for community and digital and social interaction, and collaboration.
• Interest in technology, society and human rights.
• Being and keeping up to date with digital media best practice and developments.

Preferred:

• Academic background in Marketing or related field.
• Previous experience in a digital marketing or advertising position.
• Solid knowledge of various digital tools and platforms, best practices, and website analytics.
• Working knowledge of WordPress and HTML.
• Practical skills in SEO.

Time Commitment

This role will require regular activity. You will need to have at least 3-6 hours per week to donate to We and AI for a minimum period of 6 months. Activities related to this role might take place either during the day or in the early evening.

Assessment 

If successful with your application, the second stage involves a follow-up interview, and then a session to discuss in more detail how the programme can fit into your situation and commitments. The first interview will typically be via video conference but will endeavour to fit around any accessibility needs. Feedback will be given to unsuccessful candidates.
